I know of a beautiful friend
One whose unconditional love far surpasses any love given from a human
being.
One who shows devotion and loyalty to all around him no matter what.
His beautiful and constant smile made anyone smile back.
I am so going to miss many things about him:
I am going to miss the way that he wags his tail in anticipation as he
hears the bus come down the street.
I am going to miss the white fur that gets all over my neatly pressed
black pants.
I am going to miss him eating the snow and when he used to dive in snow
banks.
I am going to miss taking him out in the morning—a task I loathed for my
first three years of high school that I can never complain about again.
I am going to miss the confident and brave bark that made me feel so
safe.
I am going to miss the belly rubs and the out-stretched paws.
I am going to miss fetch w/ the tennis ball and how I always ended up
the one fetching him from the neighbor’s tree.
I am going to miss our runs together and how he always had to mark the
street signs.
I am going to miss giving him treats and the tricks he did for them.
I am going to miss coming home from a date and seeing my buddy waiting
up for me with dad making sure I got home alright.
I am going to miss him looking out for his best friend and her loving
him back.
I am going to miss the little fights in the garage and the howling to
the moon.
I am going to miss the water bowl being thrown around, in attempt to
tell me there is no water left.
I am going to miss him opening doors to rooms that he shouldn’t.
I am going to miss mom saying, "Oh give him the rest of that chicken if
you don’t want it."

But most of all I am going to miss the love that he had for me.
He would leap any height and run any length just for his family.
I will always love you King.
Thank you for being there to talk and kiss me on the cheek when I was
sad.
I will always remember you and cherish your time with us---god has so
blessed us in allowing us to share you in our lives
